Digital Manifolds: Sauermann Launches its New Generation Range
Two new manifolds, their probes and connected accessories come onto the market, equipped with the latest technologies. Sauermann is launching two new digital manifolds, along with the necessary sensors and accessories, for working on all types of installations using refrigerant: heat pumps, air conditioning, refrigeration and reversible systems, across all sectors from domestic to industrial.
  • A1 / A2L / A3 refrigerants compatible
  • High-speed NTC temperature sensors
  • Durable anti-reflective glass screen
  • Safe and rugged for long data logging
  • User-friendly troubleshooting with diagnostics
  • New smart assistant app: Sauermann Pilot

These Si-RM350 and Si-RM450 manifolds are designed to be the most versatile on the market. The entire range also enables the safe handling of flammable refrigerant gases (A2L and A3). In addition, they are supported by a range of digital technologies offering the user easy operation and full diagnostics at a glance.

All the necessary wired and wireless probes come with these manifolds for measuring temperatures, pressures and vacuum, as well as psychrometric air parameters (indoor, outdoor and in ducts). These peripherals incorporate the latest innovations in the sector, including a stable wireless connection up to 100 m (328 ft) away, and temperature probes equipped with a new parrot-beak-shaped clamp that ensures optimal contact on pipes from 6 to 42 mm (0.2 to 1.7 inches).

The range also includes a connected tool environment such as a load scale and several vacuum pumps to cover all interventions by refrigeration, air conditioning and heating professionals: commissioning, inspection and maintenance.

These tools are interconnected with the manifolds, but also with a free application available for Android and iOS, called Sauermann Pilot. This unified application displays measurements in real time, remotely controls and configures instruments, records measurement campaigns and allows for their in-depth analysis. It also manages customer data and automatically generates reports complying with local regulations.

The manifolds and their probes are manufactured in France at Sauermann's site in Montpon-Ménestérol, which houses the company's R&D and manufacturing lines, as well as its advanced metrology laboratories.

Heat pumps: how do they work and how to maintain them?

Heat pumps are the new stars of the heating world. These systems outperform others on several fronts, and many governments are introducing new laws and regulations to encourage their use, not least because they’re better for the environment and help combat climate change. In this article, we take a detailed look at the nuts and bolts of this technology.

From HVAC to Formula 1: the amazing Pitot tube

Heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration professionals are among the world's foremost experts in airflow: balancing pressures, measuring velocities, ensuring that systems operate at maximum efficiency... So these pros know all about their trusty Pitot tube, the simple yet brilliant device that measures a fluid's velocity and calculates its flow rate. But did you know that the same fundamental technology used in ducts plays an essential role in the highly demanding world of Formula 1 racing? Let's dive into the fascinating (and surprisingly complex) ways in which pitot tubes are used in F1, to see these instruments in a whole new light.

Sauermann pressure sensors play a vital role in face mask tests

As lockdown rules are eased in many parts of the world, the production of respiratory face masks is being ramped up to cater to massive demand from countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Chinese filter manufacturers are turning in large numbers to Sauermann to certify their products to the strictest international standards. Filter test benches require high-precision differential pressure sensors, such as our CP 112 range, as part of the test protocol. Here, we explain how and why.
