Preventing contamination

To ensure the safety of people and products and prevent contamination, many sectors use controlled atmosphere zones maintained at positive or negative pressure with a differential of just a few Pascal (Pa).

In cleanrooms, very small differences in pressure are used to regulate air circulation between different zones. Measuring these values is extremely delicate, as it must be done with precision, stability and durability. Sauermann benefits here from the 45 years of experience of its KIMO brand in this field.

CONTINUOUS MONITORING
Measuring instruments in cleanrooms require a very high level of accuracy and stability to measure pressure differences in the range 10 to 30 Pa. This critical type of measurement can therefore only be ensured by using high quality sensors.
Our new Class 320 pressure transducers guarantee accurate and stable measurement. Their accuracy of ±0.3 Pa and their programmable self-calibration system ensure long-term measurement reliability. Their IP66 waterproof housing is resistant to vaporised H202 and is specially designed for use in ZACs.

SPOT MEASUREMENTS
To limit the spread of particles and micro-organisms, production areas are under positive pressure to prevent outside contaminants from entering. Conversely, containment areas are under negative pressure to prevent outside contamination.
To maintain balanced pressure differentials, the distribution network must be precisely adjusted by measuring the supply and exhaust air flow rates and the air change rate. Our DBM 620 balometer and our various anemometers are perfectly suited to this type of measurement.

The clean room classification is defined in ISO 14644-1, which sets out the requirements for air purity. Certain measurement campaigns are required to certify compliance with this ISO standard.
For areas that are less demanding in terms of accuracy and continuous real-time monitoring, our stand-alone differential pressure data loggers archive their measurements over a long period. Easy to install and highly mobile, some models offer remote data consultation.

Differential pressure measurement is a very delicate task, requiring a plan for maintenance, inspection, verification and calibration of the measuring devices using calibration benches whose accuracy is at least equivalent to that of the sensors.
To prevent production downtime, our metrology technicians work throughout France on all types of installations and processes and on all brands of instruments. What's more, our 600 m2 metrology laboratory can accommodate your equipment for all air parameters.
